Today's show was a rough one. Two of the three CD players were acting funny. The computer was messed up and had to be rebooted. The computer mouse became disconnected. But I got things fixed and felt ready about 8:30. I liked "A Line for Every Letter" by Mountaineer that I played... it was very pretty. I probably need to go find that Mountaineer CD this weekend. My entire playlist can be found here.

My friend, Jared, sent me a mix CD in the mail a week or so ago. I was very impressed as he burned it entirely from LPs in real time. It features a song called the "Cannibal Song" by Jiminy Cricket and Rika Moore. But I cannot figure out if the voice of Jiminy Cricket is actually Cliff Edwards on that particular track. And where did it come from? I gotta figure that out. It is a very wacky song.

"The Cannibal Song" comes from a Walt Disney record called ADDITION AND SUBTRACTION that I had as a child. I used to dance around to it in my batman underoos.

The album cover has no credits other than Ms. Moore and Mr. Cricket, and one of my theories is that it's her voice perfectly slowed down. But thinking it might be the voice of Mr. Cricket sounds more plausible, now that I think of it.

Glad it's having a second life!

"The Cannibal Song" features two voices... one of them is Jiminy Cricket and the other one is a male voice... I wonder who it could be?

My mom never bought me underoos.

It's currently listed on Ebay and the release dates says 1969. Cliff didn't die until 1971, so I guess that this voice of Jiminy Cricket is indeed Cliff Edwards. (Thanks, Skip!)

Charlotte, if you have an inkjet printer, you can make some underoos with a pair of boy briefs and a tshirt. I had spider-man underoos and it was just a blue&red ringer T with a pair of briefs with part of spidey's costume printed on the front.
The were fairly lame- nowadays I could make a really good set of Spider Jerusalem underoos with some inkjet transfer paper.
